Apply to the Westchester Youth Symphony Opportunity Fund

Calling all dedicated high school musicians! The Westchester Youth Symphony invites students in grades 9–12 to apply for support through our Opportunity Fund.
WYS is committed to ensuring that every student has access to meaningful musical opportunities. Rather than serving as a performing ensemble, we act as a bridge—connecting young musicians with programs, teachers, and experiences that help them grow, regardless of financial circumstances.

Through the Opportunity Fund, selected students may receive financial assistance and personalized guidance to pursue lessons, ensembles, summer programs, and other enriching musical pathways.

If you are passionate about music and eager to continue your musical journey, we encourage you to apply. Our goal is to support your growth, open doors, and help you find the opportunities that best fit your goals.

There is no application fee. Financial support is awarded based on both merit and need.

Apply
Students in grades 9–12 submit a simple application sharing their musical background, interests, and goals.

Applications are thoughtfully reviewed to understand each student’s needs, potential, and aspirations.

Connect
Selected students are matched with appropriate opportunities—such as private teachers, ensembles, summer programs, or workshops—based on their individual goals.

Support
Through the Opportunity Fund, WYS provides financial assistance and ongoing guidance to help students succeed in their placements.

Students continue developing their skills, confidence, and musical voice while becoming part of a supportive and expanding community.
